Adel Emam |
The sons of the great Egyptian artist Adel Emam have begun their journey to revive their father's great cinematic legacy and to dig through old books, as each of them is working on presenting one of his famous films with a modern vision and a special artistic touch, far from the shadows of their father's name, in an unprecedented artistic step that keeps pace with the latest trends in the film industry and carries within it the re-presentation of great works with a contemporary flavor.
"Shams El Zanati" returns, reimagined by Mohamed Imam
Among the most prominent works being revived is the movie "Shams El Zanati", presented by artist Mohamed Emam in a new version titled "Shams El Zanati - The Beginning".
Filming of the movie, in which Mohamed Emam co-stars with artist Asmaa Galal, has recently begun, while director Amr Salama is in charge of directing the film. In a remarkable move, Mohamed Emam posted a photo on his Facebook account, wearing the same clothes as his father, leader Adel Emam, in the same scene from the original movie, which excited the audience and sparked controversy over the new work.
The original movie achieved huge success when it was released in 1991, and is considered one of Adel Emam's most prominent movies of that period, as it contained a mixture of comedy and action. The new version will allow today's audience to explore this famous work with a contemporary vision, with the addition of new touches that consider modern cinema's developments.

On the other hand, director Ramy Imam continues to work on reproducing the film "Al-Bahth an Fadiha", which was shown in the seventies of the last century. The original comedy film stars Adel Imam, Samir Sabry, and Mervat Amin, and is the last film by writer Abu Al-Saud Al-Ibiary. Rami Imam chose Hana Al-Zahid and Hesham Maged to play the main roles for the new version.
The film revolves around comedic situations that arose as a result of pivotal situations related to marriage and betrayal. It is inspired by the American film The Married Man's Guide, released in 1967. The late director Niazi Mostafa re-presented it in Egypt in 1973, and it achieved great success then.

In support of joint Arab film production, Advisor Turki Al-Sheikh, Chairman of the General Entertainment Authority in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, announced the support of the Big Time Fund to re-produce these two prominent films. Al-Sheikh said that this cooperation between Egypt and Saudi Arabia reflects the artistic integration between the two countries, explaining that "Egypt has a rich heritage of civilization, culture and stars, and we are proud of this cooperation with Egyptian artists and the Arab world."
