Sheikh Muhammad Siddiq Al-Minshawi |
The Egyptian Ministry of Awqaf, headed by Dr. Osama Al-Azhari, announced the commemoration of the reciter Sheikh Muhammad Siddiq Al-Minshawi. Dr. Muhammad Abdul Rahim Al-Bayoumi, Secretary-General of the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs, stated that the project includes searching for and excavating the lost heritage of Sheikh Al-Minshawi in coordination with his family, to recover the rare treasures of Qurans and audio recordings that bear the Sheikh's prominent mark.
Sheikh Muhammad Al-Minshawi's daughter said, through her official page, that this project restores hope in preserving the heritage of the Islamic nation and enhances its civilizational value.
Notably, Sheikh Muhammad Al-Minshawi finished memorizing the Holy Quran at the age of eight. He was known for having a voice that was tinged with melancholy, earning him the title of "the one with the weeping voice."
Sheikh Muhammad Al-Minshawi was raised in a prestigious Quranic family that inherited the recitation of the Holy Quran. His father, Sheikh Siddiq Al-Minshawi, and his grandfather, Al-Tayyib Al-Minshawi, made this family a pioneer in a unique school of Quranic recitation, known as the "Al-Minshawi" School.
