Penny Black |
10. Penny Black:
The visage of Queen Victoria of England appears on this stamp. This
stamp is unique because it was taken off the market that same year due to the

First released in 1845, this stamp costs $20,000. It was the

The Whole Country Is Red |
8. The Whole Country Is Red:
It was released during the Chinese Cultural Revolution in 1968 and
costs $50,000. It displays a red map of China with images of workers, farmers,
and soldiers clutching red books. However, the map of Taiwan was white at the
time, not red, and they soon realized their error. The stamps were gathered
from the marketplaces, and what's left of them is what's in existence now,
making it one of the rarest and most costly stamps ever.
