In his office at the ministry's headquarters in the New Administrative Capital, Mr. Sherif Fathy, Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, welcomed Bishop Daniel, the papal deputy, bishop, and head of the Monastery of Anba Paula in the Red Sea, along with his delegation. They were there to observe the restoration project and the growth of tourism services at the Monastery of Anba Paula in the Red Sea.

Greeting Bishop Daniel and his delegation, the Minister commenced the meeting by wishing them and the Christian brothers a happy Christmas.

For his part, Bishop Daniel praised the Minister for the efforts made by the Ministry to repair the ancient sites located on the path of the Holy Family's trip in Egypt and to increase the effectiveness of tourism services provided there.

The Egyptian state is reviving the Holy Family's journey in Egypt as a major national project, focusing on its diversity and potential as a world-first tourist destination. The Ministry is working to develop and prepare the Holy Family product, with an archaeological tourism committee led by Engineer Ahmed Youssef. The committee will inspect the monastery, create a report, and investigate incorporating it into travel agency tourism programs.
